Read decimals literally: A decimal minute is a fraction of 60 seconds, so 0.75 minutes is 45 seconds and 2.25 minutes is 135 seconds. Do not read 2.25 as 2 minutes 25 seconds; use 2:25 when you mean two minutes and twenty-five seconds.
Use a colon for clock times: Timer and media values should be entered as mm:ss, such as 1:05 or 12:30. The parser also accepts hh:mm:ss for longer durations, so 1:05:30 becomes 3,930 seconds without manual splitting.
Count rests between reps: For repeated intervals, there is usually one fewer rest than repetitions. Eight rounds with 15 seconds of rest add 7 rests, not 8, unless your plan intentionally includes a final cooldown gap.
Match rounding to the job: Use whole seconds for workouts and countdowns, tenths for lab timing, no rounding for spreadsheets, and frame-boundary rounding when the duration must land cleanly on a video frame.
