Do not add percentages directly: A 30% discount followed by 20% off the reduced price gives 44% off, because the second percentage applies to 70% of the original price.
Compare on the same tax basis: If one offer has handling or delivery and another does not, enter the flat charge so the final order totals stay comparable.
Use the cap field for fine print: Some promotions say an extra coupon stacks only up to a maximum total discount. Choose the capped method and enter that ceiling.
Watch receipt rounding: A line-item rounding rule can move the total by a few cents when buying many low-price items, especially groceries or supplies.

The sign catches your eye: Thirty percent off clearance items! A little happy dance happens in your heart. And then, you spy the tiny print below: “Another 20% off with a seasonal coupon OR a store credit card.” Your mind instantly multiplies those two discounts for fifty percent off

Unfortunatly, the second discount isn’t applied to the original price. It’s applied to the already discounted price. This is what most people miss; this is why when you’re standing at the checkout line, you’re thinking: Why did my receipt look so different than what I had imagined?

How to Understand Stacked Discounts
