RAW is 5-6x a JPEG: A 24 MP RAW at 14-bit runs about 30 to 35 MB, while the same shot as JPEG fine is near 9 to 10 MB. If you shoot RAW plus JPEG together, budget roughly 40 MB per frame and expect a 64 GB card to hold only around 1500 pairs, so carry spares on a full-day shoot.
Leave a burst buffer: Keep at least 15% of a card free so high-speed bursts and 4K stills clear the buffer without stalling. Set the reserve field to 15 or 20 for action, sports, and wildlife work, and offload to a drive before the card drops below one full buffer of open space.
